In my view many of the books written
for the public on medical topics are too simplified. Just as they
begin to get into the subject, they run out of information, which
leaves the reader unsatisfied. Over the past two years I have written
a series of books that attempt to provide in-depth medical information
in a form suitable for a lay audience. Medical jargon terms are
avoided when possible but explained when needed. Most of all they
try to inform the reader to a level that lets him or her understand
the medical condition well enough to engage in useful dialogue with
their medical advisers about their standards of care, and choices
of treatment.
An expert in the relevant field has reviewed each
book. They are published by Hodder & Stoughton, and are available
in main bookstores, priced £6.99.
They can also be ordered directly from us for £5.50
each, which includes postage.
